The Unbelievable Issue

Every issue of Sorbet is unbelievable. That we are able to create this beast of a book four times a year, working with some of the most creative and talented people we know, bringing those people together to create the features and photo shoots in every issue, is a beautiful feat of hard work and imagination that is truly sometimes hard to believe. At the beginning of every issue, and at almost every turn, comes the often incredulous question – “How are we gonna do that?” If you had said, for example, at the beginning of the year that we would team up with Maserati to shoot a Batman-inspired story complete with a bat sign-style Maserati trident beaming across the Dubai sky, we wouldn’t have believed you. And if you had said, at the
beginning of the year, that we would fly Winnie Harlow from Los Angeles to Paris, for a cover shoot with thee Ellen Von Unwerth, all inspired by Cat Woman and complete with high jewelry
pieces from Bulgari, we might have stamped our foot and called you a liar. But here we are. And while each issue is always similarly incredible, this time, we wanted to celebrate that. So we’ve packed this, our 43rd book, with all kinds of unbelievable things, like magicians with their magic tricks and superheroes with their superpowers. But while all these things should serve to captivate your minds, it is the superpowers of the real people in these pages who are really unbelievable – photographers, writers, stylists, models, designers, artists, producers, agents, PRs, couriers, caterers, interns – if you really break it down and add it up, this issue is the work of thousands of people, and that is perhaps the most unbelievable thing of all.
