Sorbet’s Summer 2020 issue goes beyond reality to capture a world in isolation. As COVID-19 forces humanity to press pause and retreat to the confines of home, we begin to navigate the new abnormal — from lockdown diaries and quarantine appetites, to couch activism and settee hopping, we even have a guide to pandemic etiquette. For our CGI cover story, we called upon actor, activist, and all-round renaissance man, Luka Sabbat, to lead us into the future with a shoot created via 3D scanning and digital fashion courtesy of Riccardo Tisci’s Burberry. Against the odds, we unite creative communities from across the globe in a series of selfies, videos and virtual art from the likes of Munroe Bergdorf, Anna Cleaveland, and Karen Wazen. We have Stevie Wonder’s son Kailand, drag queen Violet Chachski, living art and artist Daniel Lismore, and ultraglam Sorbet fam, Miss Fame. High jewelry is illustrated, and QR codes are integrated everywhere to bring all our images to video life. And our very first cover star, Dita Von Teese, is back, shot by the inimitable photographer Ali Mahdavi through Skype. Looking for an escape?
